Description

A piece of Italian industrial design history. This set of six consommé (or broth) cups and saucers is part of the famous "Colonna" model, designed by Giovanni Gariboldi for Richard Ginori .

Although the original 1954 design won the first Compasso d'Oro , this specific version is part of the 1966 reworking, the year in which the collection was expanded to include new functional elements such as these double-handle cups. The design's brilliance lies in its perfect stackability: the cylindrical shape and ribbon handles allow the pieces to be stacked, creating a vertical "column" that optimizes space and transforms the object into a sculpture.

Crafted from fine porcelain, the cups feature the iconic two-tone color scheme: a deep midnight blue on the outside contrasting with the pure white inside. Ideal for Midcentury Modern enthusiasts who want to bring the rationalist elegance of a great collectible classic to the table.
