Description
A jewel of glass architecture that embodies the rigorous elegance of Midcentury Modern . This splendid vintage ashtray, dating back to the 1970s , is attributed to the celebrated design of Flavio Poli for the historic Seguso glassworks, masters of the art of heavy glass.
The work stands out for its faceted octagonal shape and the masterful use of the "sommerso" technique: the heart of the object is made up of a cavity of intense pink colour – a rare and particularly sought-after shade for these models – which appears suspended within a block of transparent crystal.
The flat surfaces and sharp edges, cold-worked with extreme precision, transform the glass into an optical prism. Light, refracting on the facets, enhances the contrast between the pure exterior and the colored core, giving the object a precious appearance. Perfect for enhancing a minimalist space or as a sophisticated gift for a collector of Italian design.
