Description

An authentic jewel of Venetian Art Deco, this impressive solid glass sculpture bowl is a hymn to chromatic seduction and the history of Murano's great furnaces. A rare and magnetic work, whose unmistakable manufacture with large lobed ribs makes it fully attributable to the famous Barovier & Toso glassworks in the prosperous decade of the '30s.

The undisputed star of this creation is its exceptional nuance: a deep, intense and velvety burgundy color (a sumptuous dark red with purplish nuances) that recalls the reflections of fine wine. The upper body, shaped with soft and opulent forms that capture the light, rests elegantly on a solid circular transparent crystal base, creating a sophisticated play of visual contrasts that enhances the purity of the material.

The constructive quality is immediately perceived even to the touch: the significant weight of 1.5 kilograms testifies to the remarkable quantity of molten glass used and the mastery required to shape it hot. Perfect for infusing a touch of mysterious and refined luxury into your living room, this bowl can dominate the center of a coffee table, serve as a prestigious catch-all on a console, or enrich a collection of historic designer glass from the early twentieth century.
